I performed some updates in he past, but this is the first time I come across this question. I first assumed it was new to Domino 9.0.1, but a quick search shows that is is ancient, howerver very infrequent. In the past months, I upgraded two or three servers from 7 to plain 9.0 and didn't met that hurdle.
While it may seem inoccuous, this prevents remote deskop connection after reboot. It was quite a pain in the neck in one instance (needed to physiscally walk to the servers room to press Y on the server console) and almost a show stopper in one other (virtual machine, remotely administered, ...)
I am to perform the same upgrade 7 -> 9.0.1 very soon, also on a remote virtual server. I will make provisions to have an operator standing by and ready to press "Y", but I'd rather find a way to remove the need for this altogether. There /must/ be a way. Hopefully some of you have clues.
One thing I may do is to disable (instead of just stopping) the Domino service beforehand, so that Domino does not start upon Windows reboot, thus enabling me to re-connect my RDP session, then manually launch Domino and complete the installation.
There may be other options ? I've seen a notes.ini setting mentionned, but nothing conclusive. Maybe some sort of scripted upgrade ? Upgrading the names.nsf design beforehand ? And why did this one poped up twice in a row and never before ?
